First Trip to the Dentist

We took Caders to his first dentist appointment on November 3. He was actually really excited to go. I tried to make it sound fun and told him he would get a prize at the end if he was really good. Tyler thought he would freak out and not let them do anything, but he was really good! He loved the chair and he let them clean and floss his teeth. When they asked him what flavor of flouride he wanted he said red, so I think he got strawberry. He even got a new shrek toothbrush!

Dr. Tom came and counted his teeth and said he has good stong teeth. Hopefully he gets my teeth and not Ty's (sorry babe)!

Dentist visits for hemophiliacs can be a little dangerous because the mouth has such a hard time clotting anyways, so it's really critical that we keep his teeth as healthy as possible. Since we were pretty sure he didn't have to have any major work done, we didn't have to give him any extra doses of factor, but he did have to have some antibiotics because of his port. There is risk of getting a blood infection through the gums so it's just a precaution we will have to take every time until he gets his port out.

They even set him up a little bed on the floor so he could watch a show on the ceiling (which he thought was super cool) while I was getting my teeth cleaned!

He didn't have any cavities and he got to pick a prize out of the treasure cheast, which was an airplane. Dr. Tom went and got him these funny glasses so he actually lucked out and got two prizes! When he was done he said, "See Mom. That was easy. I didn't even need to cry!" What a stud!

Caders you are such a tough kid! I don't like going to the dentist, maybe I need to go to your dentist, it looks like it was super fun!

Hey Jen,
I found your blog through Angie's and I wanted to say Hi. Wow twins! They are so cute! We must have the same taste in clothes and a love for Old Navy, because my little girl has many of the same clothes, including the swim shirt and bottoms that your twims do. You look so gorgeous, it was fun to see your darling family.

Your kids are so dang cute. Of course they do have pretty cute parents who are extremely nice too, so I am sure your kids will turn out just perfect! If it's not to much to ask I was wondering if I could get your address, just you know when you have a minute you could email me or something, thanks!
